Chris Macioch (SUP) 30 miles from the Oceanport Paddle Club to the tip of Manhattan
On June 5th, 2021 Chris Macioch will be Stand Up Paddling (SUP) 30 miles from the Oceanport Paddle Club to the tip of Manhattan to raise funds and/or awareness for CASA of Ocean County. Chris truly believes in the organization and the work they do for abused and neglected children in foster care.
This arduous paddle will begin at Oceanport Creek in the Shrewsbury River, head into Sandy Hook Bay, follow the dangerous Ambrose Shipping Channel, pass under the Verrazano Bridge, head up the Hudson River, and finally arrive at Lower Manhattan. During this 30-mile journey, Chris will experience everything from calm backwaters, extremely rough bay conditions, wind, currents, and dangerous shipping traffic. Chris says, “This feat will seem easy compared to all of the hard work the CASA of Ocean County advocates puts forth every day for children in need.”
